The Family Collective

The Family Collective Training Program is a series of trainings that are designed to build the capacity of all partners in our network to provide high quality services to families n our community.

With a focus on best practices, these trainings will provide direct-service staff, supervisors, and leaders with content specific professional development that builds foundational knowledge and understanding of our approach to family engagement. All staff in our network will have opportunities to learn the concepts and skills needed to thrive in their roles.

Program Details

The training program will consist of 10 total trainings: 8 core courses and 2 training electives. Individuals will have the ability to select the 2 elective courses based on their interests and needs.

The TFC Training Program will be available for FREE to all TFC funded staff. Depending on the topic and facilitator, some trainings will be open to the greater community for free.

The training program will consist of 10 total trainings: 8 core courses and 2 training electives. TFC staff must attend at least 8 core courses and 2 elective courses per calendar year.

The trainings within the Elective Path consist of additional professional development opportunities beyond those covered within the 8 core courses of the TFC Core Path.

Our On Boarding Series Path is a collection of 60 to 90 minute presentations that expand upon themes from the TFC Training Program's Core and Elective Paths.

We work to prevent family homelessness and school instability by providing grant funding, conducting best practices research, and offering training to our partners in more than 50 communities across the country.

The Department is responsible for administering numerous services throughout Tennessee, including Families First, the state's Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, Food Stamps (now known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP), Child Support, Child Care Licensing, Child Care Assistance, Adult Protective Services, and Rehabilitation Services. With 133 office locations, DHS is one of the few state agencies with offices in all 95 counties.
