Racial Equity Training
Hosted by The Family Collective
9-11am on July 29th, 2021
This session will serve as an introduction to concepts and outcomes of racial equity. Attention will be spent creating a shared understanding of equity. Participants will also examine racial equity and inclusion principles. As a collective we will explore key terms in the racial equity framework. Finally, participants will explore racial equity as both an outcome and process. After this training, social workers will be able to successfully move beyond an analysis of racism and its cultural and social roots. This training is designed to shift the mindsets, policies, and practices toward race equity. Social workers will gain applicable awareness of structural racial inequities that create barriers for client success. Racial equity principles facilitate practice implications that social workers must actively curate in order to embody anti-racism in all practice settings.
